Standards Goals and Objectives
The following goals
and objectives underlie the CSHSE National Standards for
Human Services Education:

GOAL
1: The major goal of the curriculum shall be to educate
human service professionals who upon graduation from
a program are prepared to provide services at entry
level commensurate to the level of study.

Objectives:
- The curriculum shall be constructed to facilitate
the attainment of proficiency in generalist human
services knowledge, theory, and skills.
- The curriculum shall be designed to facilitate
the acquisition of knowledge from a number of interrelated
disciplines; for example, psychology, sociology,
social work and health sciences.
- The curriculum shall have a knowledge base that
provides the language, issues, and values of human
services work..

GOAL
2: The curriculum shall provide for the personal development
of the student in those areas that are closely related
to his or her functioning as a human service professional,
including personal values, motivation, orientation
towards human services work, interpersonal relationships,
and communication skills
|
|
Objectives:
- The curriculum shall incorporate the fundamental
values and ethics of the human services profession.
- The curriculum shall provide opportunities that
enable students to become aware of their own values
and personalities and how these affect the client
relationship
